One of the most stylish camps in Zambia, the award winning Chiawa is perfect for lovers of high-luxury safari experiences. The large tents have a vintage character and class, with soft king-size beds, dark wood furnishings and timber floors. The extensive en-suite bathrooms boast twin basins, indoor and outdoor showers and a ball and claw bath. Despite this unbridled luxury, there is an unpretentious, laid-back feel around camp that chimes perfectly with the ambience of the Lower Zambezi.
Wildlife in this area of the national park is abundant, with elephants regularly wandering through camp, sometimes staying a while to frolic by the river and enjoy the shade of the mahogany trees. There is a split level lounge / bar area where the upstairs viewing deck allows for excellent wildlife sightings, and an al fresco dining area next to the Zambezi. Chiawa’s activities encompass the full range of Lower Zambezi classics, with day and night game drives, walking safaris, canoeing, river cruises and fishing. Combining first class guiding, attentive service, a wide range of activities and fabulous wildlife, it is little wonder that Chiawa has become such a coveted destination.
