Situated just outside the Lower Zambezi National Park, amidst the extensive wildlife of the Chiawa Partnership Park, the Royal Zambezi is one of Zambia’s most sophisticated safari lodges. The elevated setting on the banks of the Zambezi is superb, offering sweeping views of the river and across to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe. The 14 tented suites are stylish and spotless, with a relatively minimal style offset against the odd traditional touch such as dark wood writing desks. The four Deluxe Suites also offer a private plunge pool, al fresco copper bath and sala daybed, ideal for honeymoon couples and luxury seekers.
This elegant style is maintained in the public guest areas, with a dining room and lounge under a high thatched roof, a swimming pool on decking and an outside bar and boma for sundowners and nightcaps. Taking indulgence levels further, the bush spa offers classic treatments with a local twist, as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and plunge pool. Activities include game drives, canoeing and boat cruises, both inside the national park and in the game management area, while walking safaris and tiger fishing are also available. The lodge offers excellent value in the emerald season, and also has its own light aircraft to make flights into the Lower Zambezi more economical.
