Chikoko Tree Camp is one half of Remote Africa’s Chikoko Trails walking safari route, where two small camps in pristine locations offer rustic simplicity in the north of the park. This is a delightful camp, with three open sided tree-house chalets made of reed and thatch, sitting in the canopy of a picturesque acacia grove. Water is heated for your shower amidst the trees each evening, after a tiring day walking between camps or in the unspoiled bush around Chikoko itself. Waking up in the morning with the sun rising to illuminate your bed and the active wildlife below is a rare treat, enhanced by a delicious bush breakfast before heading out on another walk.

Chikoko Camp lies around 8km from Tafika and roughly 5km from the other Chikoko Trails haven, Crocodile River Camp. There are no game drives available and the camp is charming and comfortable but not luxurious, so it is definitely tailored for a specific breed of safari lover rather than a wide-eyed safari first timer looking for guaranteed sightings of big game. But if you are keen to experience that rare thrill of the untamed African bush on foot with outstanding walking guides, Chikoko is just perfect!
